Travel: Seattle

Well hello there!

(the various temps I experienced haha)

I recently returned home from an awesome two week vacation!! I visited three places; Seattle (for Superbowl (YEAH HAWKS!) and to visit friends), home to BC (family) and then to San Francisco with my youngest sister and her friend!  So I'll split the pictures into three posts.

 Flying into Seattle
Pike Place Brewery. I didn't eat there but the beer was good! My favourite was the Space Needle IPA

Superbowl outfit!
My friend and I showed up at the bar before it opened at 9am to stand in line for a seat! Worth it though. The atmosphere was awesome.
Added some accessories ;)
The post Superbowl celebrations were amazing! People everywhere cheering, cars honking, people dancing, drinking in the streets, people dancing on cars etc All in a positive way! (except for a few bad eggs that I guess trashed some stuff in Pioneer Square).
Bestie and I!
So my vegetarian friend has been telling me about this restaurant Bamboo Garden for years! It's a Chinese restaurant that is all vegan! Soo good! Highly recommend.
Jacket: Walmart  Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters  Shirt: Burlington Coat Factory  Necklace: Target
Pike Place Market
I love layering! It doesn't get cold enough in SoCal to do much of it.

I love Seattle. I've visited many times because my inlaws live in Port Orchard, WA.

I also ate at Veggie Grill which was great! It reminded me of Native Foods. It's all vegan. The mac'n'cheese was especially great! I can't wait to eat here again. Another night I went to Yardhouse which has a Gardein section with vegan options. I got some sort of rice bowl but didn't love it. Too much soy sauce (which I'm not a big fan of). Great beer list though. ;)

Outfit: Colourful Leopard

Well it's about time! For some reason I couldn't get photos to upload for a while there. My apologies for the silence!

So how about them Seahawks!? Woo!! I will be in Seattle for the Super Bowl and I cannot WAIT!  If only my husband weren't deployed; he's the one actually from WA!

It has been a very warm January! Which is disappointing because our Winters are already pretty mild to begin with so I really enjoy being able to layer up a bit this time of the year! I mean, don't get me wrong, sunshine is nice and I wasn't complaining when I was in my bikini at the beach last week but still...   Lucky for me I'm off to Seattle/Vancouver/San Fran next month so I'll get my cold weather fix then! None of that crazy -10 for me, thanks!

New

  • My dog fell asleep reading The Economist. haha Okay, not really, but I thought it was cute...
  • Giant tomato from my CSA box!
  • My cat clearly not amused with me taking our picture.
  • Picked up this Flower mascara- review to come!
  • Bought myself a new video game. First time in a looong time. I completely suck at it because, uh, I suck at shooting but hey... I'll get better. haha
  • New earrings from Target and I got the watch for free! They recently had an awesome mobile coupon.
  • Packing for my upcoming trip. I was trying to really narrow down what I brought since I'm sticking to a carry on so I was planning outfits... but I still have too much. Gah!
  • GO SEAKHAWKS!

High Rise Legging Jeans

The weather is warming up this week! Mid 70's, if you can believe it (it's San Diego so yes, you can). I haven't really been thinking about Spring too much as I don't like to get ahead of myself with the seasons but I guess I'll be getting a taste of it this weekend.

Let's talk about these jeans. I'm obsessed. I ordered them from Victoria's Secret before going on vacation and so they were here waiting for me when I got home. I've been wanting some high waisted pants but honestly, I figured the chances of these fitting well enough to keep were slim. Pants are tricky fit-wise which is why normally I don't order them online. These were on sale with free shipping so I paid like $45 instead of $60 which is more than I normally pay for jeans but so worth it! They fit like a dream. I have to resist the urge to wear them every day. They are a tight fit but true to size (I got an 8). They are called "high rise legging jeans" and they do fit like something inbetween the  two.  I'm tall so these probably don't come up as high on my waist as they would for some people but they are also very long!  I love the fit so much so that I ordered them in grey as well!

 - jeans

This is the gray pair although it's hard to tell. They are actually a different material and have a different fit. While the blue ones are thing and super stretchy like leggings these fit more like jeans. The material is a bit stiffer. These are also a tad big on me even though I got them in an 8, same as the blue ones. Once my sewing machine is fixed I'll take them in a bit. I love these too though. They have a bit of an acid wash look and feel to them, so they make me feel a bit rock n roll. They are on clearance for $29.99! I also got free shipping at the time. Oh and this what I wore to watch the Seahawks play, hence all the grey/navy.

Home

  1.  Enjoying some fresh juice. I think this was two apples, kale, half cucumber, one celery stalk... my husband and I shared it.
  2. I finally bought a new kettle. My old one was just nasty looking haha This one is pretty cute! Target.
  3. Enjoying our morning cuddles while I blog.
  4. I like the swatch stickers from Julep! So handy. I stopped doing the plastic nail swatches a while ago.
  5. New necklace from Target on clearance.
  6. My Golden Globes nails hehe Inspired by Zooey Deschanel.
  7. Watching the Hawks game at a Seahawks bar in Pacific Beach, CA. What an amazing atmosphere! People got there as early as 8:30am because the game was at 10am and the bar is pretty small. It was so full! Too bad the Hawks lost but it was a cool experience; wish I'd known about the place earlier. It's called Thrusters Lounge.
  8. My husband and cat passed out on my lap on the couch. So flippin' cute.
  9. Bow (made by moi).
