I swear I do not wear these boots every day...only when it rains which really isn't very often. haha I've been wearing stripes and my denim jacket a lot lately as well. It's such a timeless look; makes me feel pulled together with very little effort (and I am all about that!).
By the way, this jacket is from Old Navy but I bought it online in their "Tall" section. Generally, I find that stuff doesn't fit me but I lucked out with this jacket. Most are just too short and cropped jackets never look quite right on me so I really appreciate the bit of extra length on this one! It's also a great maternity item because it doesn't need to be buttoned up. I foresee it getting a lot of extra wear in these next few months.

Outfit: Timeless

Outfit: Retro
I know, it looks like I'm still dressing for Summer. Well, it still feels like Summer here! haha I'm grateful for my job and the fact that it's always cool in there so I get to wear pants and sweaters...at least when I'm working.
Anyway, this was a fun retro-sort of look. I'm loving oversized tops and the boxy fit on this striped one. Maybe not always the most flattering fit but I don't think fashion or personal style needs to be ALL about that. Sometimes you just want to play around with shapes and silhouettes!

Outfit: White Sneakers
I have to fight the urge to throw on these shoes every day since I received them haha I'd been wanting some white sneakers for a while (preferably with the shorter tongue like these) but would talk myself out of it thinking "they'll just get dirty!" But eventually I figured, ah screw it. They were like $12 so if they only last a Summer, not a big deal.

Hello Gorgeous!
I spotted this top on clearance at Old Navy the other day and just couldn't resist it. I love mixing sequins and stripes plus the phrase "Hello gorgeous" is so sweet!

Retro Shorts
So, the other day I popped into Walmart to see if they had any styrofoam coolers (which apparently is called an ice chest? I don't know if that's a US/Canada thing or just haha) and I spotted these shorts. They are just what I have been looking for! High waist, dark denim shorts. I didn't get an "ice chest" but I did get some great shorts! They were under $13 too!

Farmer's Market & a Drink Recipe
This morning I decided to go check out the local farmer's market. I can't believe I've lived here for years and hadn't been to it! I only learned of it a year or so ago and was under the impression that it was pretty small. It was an hour long walk, which is a bit far, but it was worth it. There was a great variety! Fresh flowers, vegan bakery, vegan tamales, two fresh juice stands, Bitchin Sauce (which I love), Greek food (the best hummus), nuts, tons of produce (organic and non) and so on! I've been to two other farmer's markets around here but this one was actually my favourite. I plan on going again next weekend! It's a great way for me to great organic produce when my husband is away (since I don't drive and the natural grocery stores are further away) and of course it's always nice to shop local. One of my goals last year was to shop locally more and I didn't feel like I succeeded at that. So today I bought myself some fresh flowers, beet hummus (it's really good! and bright pink hehe), Chipotle Bitchin' Sauce, organic cilantro and organic asparagus. One of my favourite things about living here (San Diego County) are all of the year-round Farmer's Markets!
About 60 vendors
My pretty $2.50 flowers. They smell wonderful!
One of the juice stands. I loved seeing so many people (even overweight middle aged men who aren't necessarily what springs to mind when you think of juicing, right?) walking around with fresh juice!
Anyway... since I knew I had a lot of walking to do and the weather was sort of inbetween warm-cool I went with something loose and comfortable. I've been wearing this hat so much! It's crazy comfortable. I need to get my hands on another (like this one) so I can mix things up haha
haha My dog looks like a giant here!
Want to make what I'm drinking?
Juice 1 cucumber, 1/2 zucchini, 3 kale leaves, 1/2 lemon and 4 pieces of broccoli. Then blend that mixture with 1 frozen banana and either 1 pear or another frozen banana! Delicious!

Classic
Today was long and not in the best of ways. A meeting that didn't go as I hoped and then 5 hours of waiting around on base for my husband to finish up at work (I watched Jack Reacher and The Sandlot hehe). But! Husband has tomorrow off so the weekend has officially started. He leaves for 2 weeks of training on Tuesday so we'll be sure to make the most of our time together these next few days.
Sometimes I get a bit frustrated when taking my outfit pictures because I do it myself with a point an shoot camera... no tripod or remote. I don't have great lighting indoors so I always go outside. So then it's a matter of finding somewhere to balance my camera and have the sun in the right spot. Oh and preferably no people next to me. haha Not the easiest task! So last weekend I asked my husband to snap a few shots. I couldn't not laugh but am hoping to make it a regular weekend thing!
I have to talk about this jacket. I tried it on At Old Navy recently and felt it was promising. I was on the website and remembered they have a "tall" section. I decided to order the jacket in Tall and am so happy I did! It's hard to find jackets, especially denim or faux leather, that are long enough. I also have a larger chest so cropped jackets just don't work on me. I have tried on sooo many and just ended up looking super boxy. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for a faux leather jacket come Fall!
These pictures below I took earlier in the day. This Target dress is so comfortable and I love the classic cut! I've been drawn to longer hemlines lately. I think it's an age thing, honestly.

St Patrick's Day
Floral nails are an absolutely favourite of mine. They are also pretty easy to do since you don't have to be super precise. I like this tutorial. LOVE this new Julep shade "Teri". It's a gorgeous pink coral shade. Great for Spring/Summer. The white is Julep "Kate" and the green is Julep "Shenae".
Next is my St Patrick's Day manicure which I actually wore yesterday. Lots of green and gold! The main colour is by Cosmetic Arts and has no name. Poor nameless polish. On my middle finger I added Color Club "Holiday Splendor" and for the stripes on my pointer finger. I did the dots on my middle finger using the Cosmetic Arts polish. The dots on my pinky are Julep "Kelly". The stripes on my ring finger are Sinful Colors "Call You Later. I also used Julep "Opal" to add flakies to some nails.
My St Patty's mani chipped quickly so today I decided to put this on. I figured it's still festive (green and gold) but will work post-holiday too. I used Julep "Shenae" as the main colour. It's a lovely pale mint shade with very subtle shimmer. I will say the formula sucks. It applies too thick (found that with all of the March It Girl polishes), is patchy, tends to bubble etc. For the accent nail I added Butter London "West End Wonderland" as well as Julep "Vivien". Apparently I'm on a Julep kick!
And since it is the day to wear green, here's a shot of my outfit for today. I'll post the rest tomorrow! If you are drinking today, be safe! My husband and I have boring errands to run but plan on getting dinner at Native Foods Cafe. I might have to try today's special!
