I'm so happy it's Summer. July/Aug are favourite months of mine (so is December). There is something about summer that is relaxing. I don't think I'm taking any vacations this summer and I don't have "summer break"...and yet I feel like I do. haha It's like you feel it in the air around you.
As you may have noticed, I gave the blog a makeover! I still have more work to do but I am so excited about the new changes. I think it is coming together nicely. It's really about time I got my act together and invested more time into this blog. I think for a long time I felt unsure about it. I wasn't even really sure that blog meant to me besides a place to share my outfits. Now I know that it's really more of a lifestyle blog with an emphasis on beauty and fashion. I may never have a 1000 followers or be featured in a magazine, I don't know, but this is my blog. This is where I can write what I want and share what I want. If you follow me/read me regularly, thank you so much. I think this blog has been a selfish thing for a while but I'm now realizing how much I care about about the blogging community as a whole! I will definitely be commenting more and making sure this blog is enjoyable not just for me but for others as well. :)
(shorts Forever 21, top Target, sandals Old Navy, sunglasses Burlington Coat Factory)
When I started the 30 for 30 Challenge I had 27 items. I now have all 30. I also switched out the blue top for some shorts because I had wayyy more tops than bottoms. I forgot to take a picture of one of the new items so I'll get to that soon. It's yet another tank top.
So above is a new item which you can see again below. It was marked down to $6 at Target and was the last one of this print. I think it's so surfer girl which is great for SoCal. My style in the summer leans most towards beach bum... shorts and a tank! That's like the uniform down here in the summer, haha. As much as I love my skirts and dresses, I will admit they don't get worn as much as shorts.
I also got this open knit (so trendy) crop sweater at Target. I had almost bought it back when it was $20 but I'm glad I waited because it was marked down to $10! This was the only one in the entire store! I had originally wanted the beige one in a Medium. This is gray (duh) and a Large but it works. I love that it'll be worn all year round!
In a "polish-aholics" Facebook group that I am, we've started doing themed manicure Mondays. It's so fun! This was the first one where the theme was polka dots. This past Monday the theme was floral/flowers! I wanted to try something new and use my brushes so this is what I came up with.
with matte top coat:
with glossy top coat:
yellow LA Brightsblue Zoya "Yummy"
Not sure why I took a gazillion photos but there ya go. I wore it matte. It had a much softer look that way, like vintage wallpaper. Overall, I really like the look BUT my flowers could use a lot of work. It was partly the brush which was hard because I hadn't cleaned (not sure what I was thinking there) but yeah. I will try this look again sometime!
