Makeup look #13

Almost done with the makeup looks! I have been saving some hair ones for post-haircut on purpose so that's why I haven't been doing as many. 

This is a new favourite look of mine; lining my lower water line with coloured mineral eyeshadow! It really pops and stays put all day long! I thought it would for sure move but nope. I use a white eyeliner stick first and then use an angled brush to apply the colour. 

This is a new lipstick.  Rimmel was 50% off at Walgreens so I looked up swatches and decided on "Pink Blush" and "Alarm".  "Pink Blush" was completely sold out so I just got "Alarm".  It's a red lipstick that has a real vintage vibe to it. It is similar to a Revlon "Reel Red" but I think "Alarm" has more of an orange undertone instead of blue. It's a warm red. I think it's a very universally flattering colour!  I paid just over $2 for it after the discount.  It goes on very nicely (although the top of mine was squished! Grr. I hadn't thought to check it before I paid, just assumed it had plastic around it but nope) and stays on soo well.  I think red lipsticks have great lasting power. 

Here are swatches of all the red lip products I own, for comparison. I don't own as many reds as I do, say, pinks because I find reds can be quite similar.

left to right: Rimmel "Alarm", Revlon "Reel Red", Avon Glossy Pencil, Maybelline "510", Maybelline Colorstay (I think these are discontinued which is VERY unfortunate because they are an amazing lip stain that comes with a chapstick instead of a gloss (take note ELF)), Passion Party (this is like an edible gloss that I think you are supposed to use on your body too but who wants to eat gloss of someone? That's kind of ew. haha It's a nice lip gloss though)

This really shows the lasting power. This is after I SCRUBBED these with water + soap and my hands in the sink.  The stain one actually stayed on for days, it was hard to get off haha The Revlon and Rimmel have amazing stay power and fade evenly vs patchy. The Avon Glossy Stick has surprising good staying power for being a gloss.

 I love this outfit! It's so simple but I really like the mix of such iconic pieces as a striped shirt and a leather mini. Sorry the pictures are so grainy. :/

 The sleeves looked better pushed up. I rarely wear sleeves down, it just bothers me. My dad is the same way. (sweaters are an exception)

 It looks like my dog is sniffing my butt here. hahaha
