This week's Monday Mani theme was "blue on blue"...basically using more than one shade of blue in your manicure. I pretty much instantly knew I wanted to give a half moon mani a try. I have been wanting to try this for quite a while! I'm so glad I did. It's such a simple idea and yet it really packs a punch. Anytime I see a picture of this style, it really jumps out at me!
I used french tip guide stickers to create this look. You apply your base (Essie "Borrowed and Blue") then once that is dry, you apply the stickers near your cuticle, leaving just a small gap between skin and sticker. Then you apply your second polish (NYC "Skintight Denim Creme") which you want to be opaque in one coat. Soon as you apply it, peel the sticker off; don't wait for it to try. Then just finish with a top coat!

oooh! that looks so pretty and so easy to do! i love essie polishes, they go on so well!
ReplyDeleteOoh your facebook photo made the light blue look silver. Apparently we didn't have the same colours. I've been trying to use those hole reinforcements to do manicures but they peel off most of my nail polishes when I remove them unfortunately.
