Loud Print

It's about time I had some decent pictures of this awesome top on here. I'm so crazy about this print!  I actually really love loud prints as well as mixing and matching them but for whatever reason, I always seem to buy a lot of solid colours. I have been trying to incorporate more prints into my wardrobe but as you can see, I still tend to wear them with just basic, solid colours. I need to break out of that comfort zone!

New Camera

I got my new camera today! Oh my gosh, you guys, what a difference. haha And this is not a fancy camera! It's the Canon Powershot A1300 which doesn't have the best reviews in its price range but I got it for only $60 at Target during Black Friday week. I think it would have a higher rating if the price was only $60, you know?  My previous camera was just old and had been dropped way too many times, so the picture quality was a reflection of that. I couldn't use it indoors at all, really.  So yay for better pictures on the blog!!

Also, I'm starting a new blog feature called "Inspired By" where I will recreate an outfit I love. The idea isn't to copy it exactly, just the overall look. I think it's a great way to find new ways to wear items you already own! The blog J's Every Day Fashion does this on a regular basis. I actually discovered that blog after I had this idea but obviously I'm aware that it's not a unique idea haha For sure check out her blog though; it's awesome.

I created a new Pinterest board to collect some pictures for these posts. You can check that out here. I only post pictures where I already own items in the picture that are similar. The idea isn't to go out and buy a bunch of new things in order to create the look. :P

Inspiration: My Blomquist
Black skater skirt + black loafers + red plaid shirt.

note to self: keep your eyes open properly

I'm also trying out a new way of showing you wear the items are from. I like the simplicity of including in the photo but I'm also adding links below for items you can still purchase.

Here's a comparison shot. I took these photos one after another. No editing.

The "new" one is SO much more vibrant! And true to colour. More on this mani on Sunday.

Florals for Fall

Fall is officially here! And by officially I mean according to the calendar, definitely not the weather here. It has been a bit overcast, more so in the mornings, but temperatures are in the 80s still. That doesn't mean I can enjoy Fall and all it has to offer though! Pumpkin everything, wearing earth tones, boots, tights (it has been so long since I wore some!), new shows on tv, dark nail polish, pretty leaves, apple cider, roasted veggies, hot drinks and so on. I love the start of a new season.

You know what else I love? These pants. I picked them up at Target (duh) recently. I'd been wanting some floral pants and really liked the vintage, subtle pattern on these. I think they'll be great in the Spring too. The shoes are also new. I found them on clearance for $10!  I'm a bit loafer obsessed and wanted a pair with tassels. hehe I'll post a close up in Mondays post.

Note to self: buy more Fall friendly tops.

Tribal

Simple outfit in shades of brown with my newest scarf. I love scarves especially light gauze-y ones like this! It was on clearance at Target (duh) for under $10 but the cashier rang it up for less than $5! Score. I love the tribal print and bright pastel shades. I think it works well for both Spring and Fall.

(dress + belt unknown, scarf + shoes Target)

My bronzed look doesn't look very bronze but I swear I went heavier than usual with the bronzer. haha On my eyes I stuck with coppery/bronze shades. I might need a re-do on this look later on!
