We got a kitten today!! Our cat of over 5 years went missing (she was allowed outdoors) a few months ago. I still hope that she'll come back; I love and miss her soo much! We decided it was time to get a kitten though. I've been wanting another cat for a while anyway. I spent the past few weeks looking online because I wanted to adopt from a no kill/rescue shelter.  I put in adoption applications for a few with no luck.  Well, Thursday, my husband and I were looking online at this one kitten and happened to see a new one and we totally fell in love with it! The kitten was at Petco so I called them to get info and then emailed SPOT which is the adoption agency (Petco just houses some of them). Last night I got a reply saying I could send in the adoption papers and that they were having an adoption event Saturday starting at 10am.  So, of course, we showed up there at 10am and got the kitten we wanted!!

at first he wanted to hide behind the couch but we blocked it off. Now he's sitting on top of the couch which is better :)

He is an orange tabby (which neither of us have ever had). Two months old. He was named Freedom but we changed it to William Wallace (William for short). hehe SPOT actually had a great deal going on so he was only $40 (he's fixed, microchipped, vaccinated etc) and free things like cat litter and a vet checkup. I was willing to pay up to $150 so that was just plain lucky, I guess!

I want to get a litter box that has a roof instead of the open box we have so if  you have suggestions, let me know!  I have a cat tower but am looking online for a bed, second scratch post of some kind (what does your cat like?) and a collar.
