Dr Oz 3 Day Detox

From last weekend up until today.

I made this moussaka recipe from Forks Over Knives cookbook. It really was nothing like moussaka but it was good. Too many lentils though, I'd half the amount called for and double the amount of eggplant in the future.

I love pancakes, what can I say. Top ones had peaches in them, mmm. I don't usually like frozen hasbrowns but these ones are by Alexia (they do tots, fries, sweet potatoe fries etc) and are so good! Below are blueberry pancakes topped with applesauce and oatmeal. I know, it looks like puke but it was good.haha

Enjoying a kale salad with goddess dressing.

Making almond butter in my Omega juicer.

Enjoying some green juice

Grapefruit juice for husband and I

My amazing sorbet at a restaurant in Balboa Park, San Diego!

Making one of my husband's favourites. He asks for it every week, honestly.

I did the Dr Oz 3 Day Detox Tues/Wed/Thurs this week. It wasn't my favourite cleanse as it was very repetitive but overall I'm glad I did it. If you don't have a very high powered blender like a Vitamix  you may want to juice the lunch though! I found it wayyy too thick/chewy in just my Hamilton Beach blender. I feel really good so I'm glad I did it. I didn't drop any weight but some friends did it with me and one lost like 5lbs. The weightloss is generally temporary with detoxes though and not a reason to do them. It was a relatively easy detox. I really didn't experience any symptoms. I personally prefer juice detoxes but it was nice to mix it up!

Each morning you have a cup of green tea with lemon. It says you can add Stevia but I don't like to sweeten my tea.

Breakfast smoothie is very tasty

I have three different pictures of the lunch one because I kept trying to improve it. Day 1 I blended it all and that did not turn out well. Day 2 I juiced everything except the pineapple, coconut oil and almond milk which I blended. Better. Day 3 I juiced it all and left out the almond milk and coconut oil (I added it to a different smoothie). Delicious!
Dinner was good, just an odd mix. I enjoyed it  though and only changed it on Day 3.

On Day 3 I made this for my snack (you are supposed to repeat a smoothie of your choice as your snack each day); 1/2 avocado, 1 frozen banana, 1tbsp coconut oil and 1 cup almond milk (homemade). Then I left the avocado out of the dinner smoothie and it was better that way.

I made my husband pasta and "meatballs" from the Forks Over Knives cookbook. They are made of millet mostly. He wasn't a fan though! So I froze the rest for me to eat later.  The smoothie was my dinner. :P

Post cleanse, I had this for breakfast. Oatmeal made with water, cinnamon, blueberries, banana and walnuts. A favourite of mine.

For lunch I made another goddess kale salad. I also made juice from an orange, carrots, tangelo, kale and grapefruit.

Native Foods Cafe just opened about 25min from us so I think my husband  and I are going there tonight. I hope! It was soo good when we had it in Oregon.  Tomorrow I fly out to San Jose. I'm spending 5 days in Santa Cruz at my aunt and uncle's  place along with my parents. Can't wait!!
