Outfit: Living in Leggings

I really wanted a black and white open sweater in my capsule wardrobe so I included this one but knew I'd replace it with one I liked more eventually. So this sweater is now out and a new one is in. Still, this outfit formula has been used a lot lately. I'm kind of living in leggings on days I don't work! The Victoria's Secret ones are actually awesome maternity leggings if you wear the band unfolded!

Outfit: Mustard Sweater

Mustard has got to be one of my favourite colours for Fall. It's right up there with burgandy and camel brown! I snatched up this sweater during an Old Navy sale (and used my employee discount). I loved the thick knit and, obviously, the colour. It is a bit of a shorter length on me though.

Outfit: New Jeggings

I bought yet another pair of AE jeggings haha These are definitely a favourite! They are so comfortable and I love the high rise. I probably need the extra long length though. Even on my 5'10 frame they are a bit too long, really. I think I'm up to 5 pairs of these jeans now?  I'm in need of new shorts so I'm thinking I'll give those a try once Spring arrives. Do you have a brand of jeans you tend to stick to?

How cute is this cardigan?! And it's from Target! I mean, not that Target doesn't have great style but I think this looks more like a cute boutique find.  I tend to steer away from dolmain sleeves because I'm top heavy but y'know, sometimes you just have to go with it. The fabric is very lightweight so the oversized fit is more flattering.

Going Outside of My Comfort Zone

It's really easy to become comfortable with your style and find yourself sticking to familiar items and similar looks so I try to remind myself to step outside of the box now and then, outside of my comfort zone! This is one of those outfits. Well, it's the pants really.  I knew these pants were outside of my comfort zone when I bought them and that is WHY I bought them!  I love to challenge myself now and again to wear something different, something a little unexpected. Sure, some people dress this way all of the time but I tend to be a bit more subdued. haha I was happy with how this outfit turned out though. I wasn't sure ankle boots would work with the pants but I think they do!

 

Hello Gorgeous!

I spotted this top on clearance at Old Navy the other day and just couldn't resist it. I love mixing sequins and stripes plus the phrase "Hello gorgeous" is so sweet!

Canucks!

It kind of sucks to be back in 75f weather, honestly. haha I was really enjoying the 55f weather in Canada! Still, I was excited to wear my new Canucks (Vancouver, BC hockey team if you ware like "wtf is she talking about?") shirt when I got home so I threw on this easy outfit. It's such a soft, stretchy material which I definitely prefer over the typical thick cotton ones. It's actually a mans shirt, although I definitely think it looks more feminine.

Utility Jacket

I've been searching for a jacket like this for a while and am so happy to have found this one! I really wanted one that was long, lightweight and cinched at the waist. I could do without the orange piping but everything else is pretty perfect!

The shirt and boots are also new.  Remember my post about cutout booties?  Well, I ended up getting these Breckelle's ones from ZooShoo.com. It was my first time shopping there and I was impressed when my order arrived 3 days early! Shipping was free too although you do pay for returns. I'm really happy with the boots. They do rub on my ankles a bit so I have to make sure my pants are socks are covering them, if I'm wearing them for long. My heels also lift up a bit when I walk but I find that is common with ankle boots that have a heavy heel and wide ankle opening. 

I'm bringing the boots and jacket on my upcoming trip so except to see them A LOT.

When the Sun Goes Down

This is sort of an addition to yesterdays post because it's simply what I changed into as the sun was setting and I was going out with friends. I traded the shorts for jeans (okay, jeggings) and the sandals for boots.  I have these boots in black as well and while they are a little wobbly I still wear them a ton and find them very comfortable! I've had them for a couple years but Target still sells them so check the link below. Ankle boots are my favourite style of shoe though. It takes a lot of restraint to not buy 5 new pairs every year!
