Blue Blue

Ah, love this look! The blue really pops over the nude and both are subtly holographic. The nude is Butter London "All Hail the Queen" (vegan) and the blue is LA Girl 3D Effects "Brilliant Blue" (vegan).

These flakies looked gorgeous over the dark blue, almost like a galaxy. The base is Zoya "Cynthia" and the flakies is Ludurana "Arco-Iris" (not sure if these is vegan or what).

Mani Catch Up

I skipped this post last week because I couldn't find some of the pictures so I have extra for you this week!

First up is a crackle mani. I know, crackle is so last year or whatever but I wanted to give it another go. I thought it would be cool layering it over a somewhat similar colour. I really liked it but somehow only ended up with these two craptastic pictures! Not sure what happened.  Anyway this is Salon Perfect Crackle (unknown) in a gold shade over Julep "Nikki" (vegan).

This simple look is Julep "Shenae" (vegan) topped with Ludurana "Flocado" (unknown).

This was my favourite of this week. I know I've said it before but I just love these Born Pretty Store studs! Also, Jessie's Girl "Mermaid's Lagoon" (vegan) is such a gorgeous, rich shade. Although I do wish the gold flash you see in the bottle showed up on the nail.

I currently have this on. China Glaze "Flip Flop Fantasy" (vegan)" topped with a spectraflair topcoat. Perfect for the sunny weather we are now having!

I've had this no name Rite Aid glitter since November and hadn't worn it yet! I actually really like it though. I like that it is pink and purple. The base is OPI "Planks a Lot".

Fall Fingers

Definitely wearing more dark Fall shades on my nails now. It may be super hot out still but at least my nails can celebrate Fall!

This is two coats of Orly "Buried Alive". It's such a gorgeous brown! When the sun hits it, it's quite orange. I love it. Formula was really nice and easy to apply. I have a couple small chips after two days but nothing major and tip wear is very minimal.

Here I added two coats of Nubar "2010". The flakies made me think of falling leaves!

Yay jellies! Jelly sandwiches are so fun, I think. I did two coats of Zoya "Paloma", one coat of NYX "Gilded Glitter" and then another coat of "Paloma". So juicy and yummy looking. It gave the gold a great pink sheen.

Butter London "All Hail the Queen". Coats. Great application and wear time. I'm pretty wowed by Butter London polishes so far! This is a pretty holo in the sun!

Layers

I really liked this outfit and it was fun to have the weather actually be cold enough to wear it. Unfortunately, my camera died after I snapped this shot and I didn't get a chance to take more haha

(sweater H&M, jeans + top Target, boots Burlington Coat Factory)

Studded nails are so much fun. I just got some new stuff from Born Pretty Store to try out but the ones below are from Ebay. Those are my go to sites for nail supplies; cheap. I have only been buying darker more Fall appropriate shades lately but couldn't wait to wear this one. This is China Glaze "Jungle Queen". It's a very dark smokey greyish purple (that was a lame description haha) that has this bright shimmery purple flash in the sun.  Love.

After I took the studs (they are actually balls but whatever) off I topped the nails with Up Colors "Flocado", a nice flaky polish.

I stocked up on a few dark lipsticks last Fall and am glad I did since it's one of the big trends for Fall 2012. This is Wet n Wild 522A.

Yes, I trimmed my bangs after this. :P

Day 18: Half Moon Manicure

31 Day Nail Challenge

I love half moon manicures! They're easy to do, create a big impact and have endless options. I wanted to try something I hadn't seen before plus I've been dying to use Nubar 2010. I'd been wanting it since I first got really into nail polish back in February and just recently finally bought it for around $7 on Ebay. My most expensive polish to date!  It's so worth it.

I started with two coats of Julep "Sienna". I've been wearing it a fair bit; it's great. It's a very light gold that looks a bit silver. It kind of looks like a silver foil with gold on top. It's really pretty and SO shiny... almost like foil nail decals. Almost.

Then I did one thick coat of Ulta "Green With Envy". It's a very very dark green with gorgeous emerald shimmer. The sun wasn't out so it was hard to get a good shot of the shimmer so I didn't bother with pictures until I added a topcoat of Nubar 2010.  LOVE THIS.

I do have some similar polishes in Kleancolor "Chunky Holo Bluebell" and Kleancolor "Chunky Black Holo". They have flakies of the same colour but the shape is different plus they don't have a clear base like "2010" does.   Here's a comparison:

"Chunky Holo Bluebell"  dense duochrome glitter of all the same size
"Chunky Black Holo" duchrome flakies and hexagons of various sizes
"2010" duochrome flakies

I personally think they are all unique enough that I'm happy to own all three! It would  be nice if the duochrome colours varied (that's why Cult "Unicorn Puke" is so special, right?) Pictured above they are all over clear and black.

Berry Lips & Flakies Nails

I forgot to post these nail pics. It's just Color Club "Covered in Diamonds" over elf "Hot Coral" with Essie "Matte About You" on top. Nothing ground breaking but I love matte flakies. It is a big of a pain to remove though.

I've been trying out some Fall appropriate make up looks this week.  Here I did gold eyeshadow and added some vaseline to give it a glossy look. Unfortunately, that made it crease. I wonder if primer would fix that. Then I did berry lips using a favourite lip product of mine, Maybelline Superstay in "Orchid". I think this was discontinued and then they came out with the 24 Hour one. I don't have that but it looks like a similar idea. I find this feels a bit dry on my lips (the balm is a must) but man, it stays on SO well. I mean, you can put this on in the morning and it will not budge all day.

Don't mind the wet hair!

ps. Look how my silly kitty was sleeping.
