Julep

First manicure is two coats of Zoya "Shelby", my favourite Barbie pink, topped with two coats of Claire's "Candy Shop". I liked how girly this was. 

 I've forgotten to skip the last two months in the Julep Maven program so I have some new Julep polishes. This one is unique to my collection and I really  like it a lot. The formula wasn't great (super thick so I'll add thinner next time) but I loved the finished result. It is Julep "Nikki".  **

This is one coat of Julep "Oh Canada" over two coats of Julep "Diane" It's sort of Christmas colours but I figured it was subtle enough to get away with.

Pastels

The weather is so nice lately. Sunny, hot but with a breeze. The kind of weather where you can actually be active outdoors without sweating buckets (which will not be the case in a couple months).  Actually, my husband and I went for a hike with our dog over the weekend and really enjoyed it!  Hoping to do that many more times this summer. I'm used to hiking in the forest since I'm from BC, Canada so hiking around here in the dessert always feels kind of odd. But hey, I'll take what I can get. I've just always loved being outdoors.

 New shoes! I'm a bit of a shoe addict this year! I think I've bought at least one new pair each month. I never spend more than $25 though so it's not like I'm breaking the bank. These were on clearance for $20ish from Target. They fit a bit loose in the sides but I like them. They are actually a light camel brown colour not the dark shade you see above.  I think the loafer style will be sticking around for a while.  Hopefully. I have three pairs now.

 I tried something new (to me) with crackle the other day. I don't love the polishes I chose but I do like the overall idea.

Polish & Sugarland

I updated my blog sale BIG TIME with lots of nail polish and a few Julep goodies. Check it out!

I love purple nail polish. I have no idea why because it's not normally a colour I am drawn to but for some reason I just love it on my fingers.  Here we have Spoiled "Are Mermaids Real" and Julep "Morgan".   "Are Mermaids Real" is purple with very obvious gold shimmer. "Morgan" is a very rich purple with a violet sheen. Sorry about the tip wear, this was a day or so in.

I saw Sugarland in concert recently, for free (they gave away some tickets to military members) with a friend of mine. So much fun! We'd actually seen her perform live before. They are soo great live; tons of energy and Jennifer Nettle's voice is just amazing. Highly recommend!  Here's just a quick look at what I wore (hey, I don't own cowboy boots or a cowboy hat!) and a couple not so great pictures haha
