Outfit: Rainboots

We don't get a whole lot of rain in Southern California so when we do you know I just have to wear my rainboots! I actually bought them while living here which is sort of funny since I previously lived in WA State and BC, Canada where there is a lot more rain.  They were less than half the price of Hunters so I was able to justify it to myself. hehe

Also, this scarf is like a small blanket. Loves it. I switched into comfier boots and wore this to see Non-Stop with some girl friends.  If you want a great "who done it" action movie, definitely see it! We really enjoyed it.

Rain!

I woke up to rain yesterday! That's exciting in San Diego, okay? haha I took my pup to the park to take pictures and play. Of course I had to wear my rainboots... any chance I get people!

I have been looking for some leggings like this and was really happy when I found these at Target recently! They are like wearing a sweater on your legs haha

Smokey

How's everyone's weekend so far? My husband and I went out for breakfast this morning (I had a vegan sweet potato waffle with vegan apple crisp on top, omg) and then I had a meeting at Starbucks with some people for a photoshoot I'm styling next weekend. The photographer is a friend so he asked me to be the stylist! I might do makeup too.  Fun, fun! I think we may hang out with some friends tonight and then watch the Strikeforce fights. :)

For this makeup look I followed this tutorial (video below). My eyes turned out a bit dramatic but I liked it!

Here's what I used for my eyes:
Coastal Scents Matte and Shimmer palettes, MAC fluidline in "Glitz & Blitz", eyelash curler, Buxom mascara, elf Studio Cream eyeshadow in Candlelight and Madd Style Cosmetics eyeshadow in Touch of Grey.

When in WA

Ah, I love the start of a new year.  It's a breath a fresh air! Yes, a time to make changes. I don't care how cliche it is, I do feel renewed at the start of the year and ready to tackle just about anything. Sure, the feeling may fade some with time but the first step to anything is just to start, right?  This week I have been super on top of cleaning (made a new helpful schedule; link), cooking dinner and packing lunches, working out every day etc.

Here's a look from before we left for our trip. Originally we were supposed to leave this day so this was a travel outfit but it got pushed back.

Here's an outfit I photographed in my inlaw's back yard. Brr. I recommend this rain boots if you want something similar to the Hunter ones without the high price tag. Do wear thick socks to stay warm (and to avoid them rubbing against your ankles). They definitely kept my feet dry!

And a makeup look. A simple eye with a bright lip. The lipstick is Wet n Wild "Purty Permisson" topped with Milani HD Advanced Lip Color "Candy Apple".  I did the same skin routine every day. Physician's Formula Organic Wear Tinted Moisturizer (pretty sure this helped clear up my skin!), POP Beauty UK primer, Milani Mineral compact powder (to reduce any shine), theBalm Bahama Mama bronzer (to contour) and elf Studio Highlighter pen (to highlight).
