Outfit: Just Another Day in Paradise

I love casual fashion so it makes me pretty happy that sweatshirts are a big trend right now. This Old Navy one is really soft and lightweight, making it great for this time of the year. I sized down for a more fitted look.  Oh and these shoes? I wear them a ton. They solve that dilemma of should I wear black, cream or brown shoes with this outfit. ;)

Outfit: Linen Pants

I went out of my style bubble when I bought these pants!  Meaning, they are different from anything else in my wardrobe and not my usual look!  I was shopping with some friends and all three of us decided to not only try them on but also buy them (they went with white while I went with tan). I hadn't worn wide leg pants in so long that I was afraid I'd be a bit stumped on what to pair them with but actually, it's not that challenging. They have such a laid back, casual vibe. I decided to go with a simple black tank here and add some fun accessories.

Have you bought something outside of your "style bubble" lately?

Outfit: California Vibe

Do you find that where you live affects your style?  I've been in Southern California for 5+ years now and I definitely know that the beachy, laid back surfer vibe has rubbed off on me!  I gravitate towards a lot of comfortable basics, flowy tops, ripped denim, flat shoes and so on. Not to say I don't also like to throw on heels and a dress but even then, I see the SoCal influence.  I've only lived on the West Coast though so I think that laid back vibe has always been a part of my look.

I bought this Old Navy tee hoodie in two colours. It's very lightweight which is great for Spring here! Of course I couldn't resist this pretty mint shade.  I also recently bought these flats from Payless. They are super comfortable and such an easy pair of shoes to throw on. I freakin' love the pattern and the fact that they add some interest to a simple tshirt and shorts look.  This is the kind of outfit I often throw on to walk my dog, run errands... anything some what active.

Outfit: Peplum

Finally, a peplum top that is long enough for me! That's thanks to Old Navy's "tall" section online.

Well, that "Winter storm" (y'know, my Southern California standards) passed and the weather is definitely feeling more Spring like. I even unpacked some of my shorts and tank tops!

Outfit: Maxi

I finally found the right black maxi skirt. And guess what? Only $13 at Walmart. Go figure. It's super duper comfortable, not too hot or difficult to walk in because of the side slits, can be worn low or high on the waist...  Yeah. It's a very thin material so it'll work well for Spring. I'm hoping them come out with a coral colour!

Outfit: Pleather Leggings

I'm going through a bit of a phase where I want to wear a lot of black (and white) right now!  These leggings are new. I have been wanting some like this that were actually long enough and these definitely are! If you are a tall girl like myself I definitely recommend them! They do fit rather large in the waist though so I'll do some alterations.

Utility Jackets

Hey look, layers! Woo! I wore this to a brewery and then to watch movies with some girl friends. I just recently bought a new utility jacket which I'm pretty excited about. This one is very old and doesn't fit quite right. I feel like they layer so well and help pull an outfit together. Plus it works in the "rule of 3". Know what I'm talking about?  Adding that third item to any outfit whether it be a jacket, scarf, hat, statement necklace. It really helps an outfit to look more complete! Such a simple but clever trick to keep in mind. Anyway, check out the bottom of the post for some great utility jackets!
