Ombre

I finally bought a new foot pedal for my sewing machine and was able to do some alterations. At the top of the list was this shirt.  I love the ombre effect!  Structured blouses never fit me quite right. A Medium will generally fit except in the torso where it is too wide. They also tend to be a bit short on me. So I took in the sides a bit but only a bit. I plan on picking up a more standard chambray shirt (I think every girl should own one!) that I can alter, just have to find one with a hidden outer seam.

Yeah, I should have moved my dog's food before snapping these pics. haha But yay V-Dog!

ps My butt is getting bigger. Yeah, squats!

Seeing Red

Fall weather feels like it has finally arrived. Okay, I really need to stop talking about the weather in every post. Yeesh. But seriously, I wake up and it's 60F and it stays below 75F all day with it going as low at 48F at night so I'm happy. I know, not cold compared to many other places but this is sunny California!

Aaanyway, this outfit is from last week. The peplum top is very basic and yet it does feel a bit more dressed up so I kept it casual with bright red jeans and wedge sneakers.

I ordered more hair dye yesterday. I went with the same colour. You can see my roots here. The red has faded a fair bit but I'm still totally happy with the colour, so that's good. I think I'll wait another week to dye it, maybe... it has only been four weeks (as of today) since I first dyed it. I don't think you can just touch up your roots with Manic Panic because it won't match the rest of your (faded) hair, unfortunately. I wanted to wait until the six week mark to dye it but I'm thinking 5 weeks will be better  and then I'll dye it again before Christmas/vacation.

New Do

The first time I wore these pants they were a bit too tight but now they have morphed into the perfect fit! I want them in more colours now! I doubt Walmart still has them though (they aren't online anyway). They are a bit on the short side but thankfully that is accepted as being in style these days haha That is good news for tall women like myself.  I think the fit is a mixture of them stretching out a bit and me losing a few pounds.

I got my hair cut today. I wanted more of a long bob with messy layers and shorter bangs. My bangs turned out a bit short but that's fine because they grow so quickly! They also look uneven in some pictures, right? Strange. I'll have to wash/style it and then give it a trim to even it out. But overall I'm loving this style! I asked for some big pieces framing the face and I really like those. My hairdresser also tried a new thinning technique on me since I have such thick hair. My hair feels so light! I treated myself to the curl product she used by Euphora.

When you don't see my dog in my picture it's because the park is empty so I'm letting him run around with his leash still attached hehe

Oh, speaking of Walmart.  I saw on Hello Fashion that Walmart has some pretty cute new items. I'm loving that sweater! Here's some more...

Smokey Eye With a Twist

More coloured jeans! I need to take in the bottoms of these to make them skinnier but I do love the purple.  I told you I'd been wearing these shoes a lot!

I hope you're all having a great weekend. My husband and I went to a drive in theater last night to see The Expendables 2 and The Campaign armed with candy and homemade popcorn. Fun times! It's worth the 45min drive because it's only $8 for two movies (vs like $11 at a regular theater for one!), you have more privacy, can adjust the volume to where you want it etc I love it.

I was going to crop this but my dog peeing in the background was just too funny to get rid of :D

Here's my smokey eye with a twist. The "twist"didn't pop as much as I'd hoped but what I did was line my lower water line with a bright blue eyeliner. I find a lot of liners don't apply well on my waterline though, if they aren't black. Any brand recommendations? I might do a tutorial for a smokey eye; yeah?
