This look was inspired by Christina of Oh So Glam. I loved her pairing of a loose blouse, boyfriend jean and ankle boots. It wasn't a combo I would have thought to try on my own!

Going Outside of My Comfort Zone

It's really easy to become comfortable with your style and find yourself sticking to familiar items and similar looks so I try to remind myself to step outside of the box now and then, outside of my comfort zone! This is one of those outfits. Well, it's the pants really.  I knew these pants were outside of my comfort zone when I bought them and that is WHY I bought them!  I love to challenge myself now and again to wear something different, something a little unexpected. Sure, some people dress this way all of the time but I tend to be a bit more subdued. haha I was happy with how this outfit turned out though. I wasn't sure ankle boots would work with the pants but I think they do!

 

Rain!

I woke up to rain yesterday! That's exciting in San Diego, okay? haha I took my pup to the park to take pictures and play. Of course I had to wear my rainboots... any chance I get people!

I have been looking for some leggings like this and was really happy when I found these at Target recently! They are like wearing a sweater on your legs haha 

Preppy Fall

This sweater is one of my favourite thrifted items ever but guess what? I realized you can buy it online. haha It always feels funny thrifting something that you can still currently buy new.  Mind you, it's wool and I prefer not to wear that now that I'm vegan. 

This is definitely a fairly preppy look. I find I like wearing a mix of classic and trendy items though. I'm trying to find some high quality basics right now, any recommendations? I'd love some organic cotton or hemp tops!

Also, I have been wearing these jeggings to death lately. They just layer so well and easily tuck into boots! They are very thin and stretchy. I also love the dark wash and the fact that they never stretch out.

Utility Jacket

I've been searching for a jacket like this for a while and am so happy to have found this one! I really wanted one that was long, lightweight and cinched at the waist. I could do without the orange piping but everything else is pretty perfect!

The shirt and boots are also new.  Remember my post about cutout booties?  Well, I ended up getting these Breckelle's ones from ZooShoo.com. It was my first time shopping there and I was impressed when my order arrived 3 days early! Shipping was free too although you do pay for returns. I'm really happy with the boots. They do rub on my ankles a bit so I have to make sure my pants are socks are covering them, if I'm wearing them for long. My heels also lift up a bit when I walk but I find that is common with ankle boots that have a heavy heel and wide ankle opening. 

I'm bringing the boots and jacket on my upcoming trip so except to see them A LOT.
