Halloween

Eek! Sorry for disappearing on you all! I was without a laptop for a bit but I have mine back now.  I posted my Last Weeks Manicures and Weekly Snapshots so feel free to check that out!

I have zero Halloween plans this year. Well, that's not true. I plan on eating more Sour Patch Kids and watching Hocus Pocus, alone. haha Very exciting, I know! I really love Halloween but just didn't really celebrate it much this year. Oh well. I went for a somewhat gothic look today and while editing decided I should add a witch hat. So here is my faux witch costume.

(tights + skirt + boots Target, shirt Burlington Coat Factory)

I've become totally used to the red hair now. It was such a shock the first few days but it has been almost two weeks now! I used up the rest of the Manic Panic container to touch up my hair since I still had some areas that were less red. I think it's pretty even now and next time I dye it all, it should be good. I added my red conditioner to the Manic Panic container so it has some of the dye in it. :)

I used to red lipsticks for the lips, Wet N Wild "522A" and Rimmel "Alarm".

And here is my final look for the 'This is Halloween' Challenge!  I really wanted to do skulls, especially sugar skulls. I suppose it could fit into the "graveyard" challenge?

Halloween Challenge 7. 8. 9. 10

Here are a few more Halloween Challenge looks. I'll have the final one up on Wednesday/Halloween!

For gradient I used China Glaze "Liquid Leather" and Sinful Colors "Call You Later".

These little witches make me giggle hehe The base is Zoya "Opal" over China Glaze "Liquid Leather". THen I just freehanded the moons and witches.

I started with a base of Julep "Elizabeth" and then did the graves using Bettina "Sand Blast" sponged with a mix of that and Essence "Five Pocket Grey".  Then I used Butter London Matte Finish Topcoat over just the graves.

You might be wondering what the heck this has to do with trick or treating  besides being orange and black. haha Well, this polish is called "Trick or Treat"! It's made by Sparkles by Julie (on Etsy) and is one of the three mini bottles I recently (finally) purchased! I'm not entirely sure why it is named this, it doesn't even contain typical Halloween shades but it does remind me of candy.

Halloween Challenge: 4, 5, 6

First up, Jack o'Lanterns! I used small balls to create this look. I did it first with polish and then covered it with the beads so that I had an outline to follow. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, even if it isn't perfect! The black is a franken and yes, it makes it look like the pumpkins are ni space hahah Not really intentional!

Next we have zombies. Well, I didn't actually do zombies. I was tempted, especially with Walking Dead being back on! (best show on tv!) But then I had this idea and I thought it was pretty funny so I went with it. It's the "rules" from Zombieland, another great zombie movie. hehe

This is, of course, bats! I kept this look pretty simple and actually wore it all Halloween. The bats are stamped using a Bundle Monster plate. The grey is Bettina "Sand Blast". The glitter is Wet n Wild "Diamond in the Rough" which always reminds me of diamonds in a cave so I thought it kinda worked with the bat theme.

Halloween Challenge: 1, 2, 3

Sorry about that lack of posts guys. I think I came down with the flu on Friday and I'm still feeling a bit under the weather today! I so rarely get sick, it really took me by surprise. Not fun! I am feeling well enough to blog today so I have some catching up to do. I'll post the weekly snapshots tonight and I am going to post the Friday foodie post as well. It will show as if I posted it on Friday. You can always comment on old posts though, all comments get emailed to me so I will still see them. :)

You may have noticed I joined a Halloween nail challenge. I just couldn't resist! So here are the first three challenges.

First off, let me say that it did not feel right painting a Swastika on my nail! But obviously I didn't wear this mani. I felt it was necessary to really get the inspiration to show through. My inspiration was Dead Snow, a super cheesy Norwegian movie about Nazy zombies haha It's more funny than scary. I generally don't like horror movies but I do love zombie movies.

I used Icing "True Beauty", Zoya "Purity", China Glaze "Velvet Bow", Sally Hansen "Cardinal", Wet n Wild "Black Creme" and Julep "Sienna".

Next we have water marble. I suck at this method. Always have. I used Icing "True Beauty", China Glaze "Velvet Bow", Wet n Wild "Black Creme" and Zoya "Coraline".

And ghosts! The ghosts are stamped and then I gave them blinged out eyes. hahah I actually really like them. The base is Zoya "Loredana".
