Balance

 Groceries:
Farmer's Market purchases. Remind me to not bother with the small container of that hummus again, it was gone so fast! The kale is the best I've had! It was HUGE. I haven't the basil yet, oops. Stone fruit, always delicious.

I did a 3 day juice cleanse this week so I bought tons of produce!
And a few extras like chocolate beer, Veganaise, kombucha, cookies, gluten free bread and pita bread.

Breakfast:
Babara's cereal with homemade almond milk, nectarine and goji berries
Homemade granola with goji berries, homemade almond milk and raisins
Gluten free crepes stuffed with coconut flakes, stone fruit and applesauce. I made the berry sauce on top using frozen blackberries and raspberries. Delicious!

Lunch/Snacks:
Native Foods nachos, one of my favourites. We actually took a guy friend of ours who is very picky (generally doesn't like vegetables) and a total meat eater. He got a faux chicken burger and loved it! My husband and I were so happy haha
I grilled up these hot dogs for my husband and I and oh man, they were good. You can't even really see the hot dog in there haha And yes, that's a hoagie bun. I treat myself to them a few times a year so I can make giant sandwiches hehe

You have to make this!  1-2 frozen bananas, 1/2 cup ice, 1 tsp chia seeds, 1 leaf kale, 1 scoop VegaOne chocolate protein powder. I also had some frozen chocolate smoothie cubes from a leftover smoothie so I threw in some of those. Then I added as much almond milk as I needed.
Snack today. I'm re-reading this book before I see the movie :)
I made this delicious margarita using frozen watermelon, lime juice, Stevia and ice!

Dinner:
GF pasta and asparagus.
"Chicken" burger and sweet potato tots.
So besides the fact that I burned the shit out of this bun (no clue how haha), this was pretty bomb. Totally indulgent.

Dessert:
I made these black bean protein bars and ooh it's good! It's not very sweet and I used less chocolate chips than called for but it was so good topped with peanut butter or yogurt or apple sauce. I think next time I will try making an avocado frosting! I definitely recommend trying this recipe.

Juice cleanse:

Some of my juices. They were all really delicious. You can find the recipes in my Facebook Juice Cleanse group.

Here's an overview of the second phase of Muffin Topless Summer Challenge. You can see week one here. It was pretty similar but a few different moves.
Monday: Chest
Tuesday: BodyCombat class + Abs
Wednesday: Yoga + Back
Thursday: Shoulders + Cardio
Friday: Arms + Yoga (I think I started doing yoga this day too after a week)
Saturday: Legs
Sunday: Rest

And this girl, chlooooejade, on Instagram is super motivating for me because I'd love for my body to look like hers!

Pre-Cleanse and During

Food pictures are from Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon and then I did a juice cleanse up until just right now when I decided to have some edamame haha I'm going to do mainly juicing/smoothies for the next few days though.

Nachos! Quinoa tortilla chips, quinoa, black beans, black olives, a sauce using nutritional yeast/spices/water/bit of coconut oil/cornstarch, bell peppers...

Easter morning I made donuts for my husband and I but added some cocoa powder. Uhh they didn't really turn out right haha I think if the batter had sat for longer they would have risen properly. How ironic on Easter that my donuts did not rise up ;)

A better picture of that delicious moussaka (without fake meat) I made from the Native Foods cookbook. Soo good! My husband didn't like it though (found it too mushy) so I had to eat the entire casserole! Normally I am sick of a meal once I've had it twice in a row but I happily ate this four days in a row!

Easter dinner was... Native Foods Cafe! haha I tried the portobello sausage burger and omgggg. So good. Their burgers are the closest thing to "greasy diner food" I've had without being that. Like they aren't greasy but they feel like comfort food. I don't know... just try them.

Made a quesadilla out of leftover nacho bean mixture with some Daiya and dipped it in leftover sauces from Native Foods (ranch and chipotle). Whoa, this was good! They have the BEST dips I've ever had, non vegan included.

My favourite snack lately is the homemade bagels topped with sunflower seed butter, chia seeds and cinnamon!

Curry, of course! This was more like curry soup with some quinoa haha

Onto the cleanse! You can find all of the recipes in my "spring cleanse" (I didn't do the full 5 days) in my Juice Cleanse Facebook Group. :)  I did three juices and a smoothie each day. I don't always include smoothies but when I want to keep up with my workouts, it gives me a nice boost of energy for that.  Aren't juice cleanses so pretty?  hehe

Rainbow Cleanse

Just wrapped up a 5 day juice cleanse so no food to share! I will share the juices I had though. I came up with them on my own. I call this the Rainbow Cleanse because I named each drink after a colour. I also drank them in the same order each day, choosing between green 1 or 2. It went orange, red, green, yellow, purple, white.I had the homemade almond milk on days 2 and 3 only. I also had a coconut water today and Yogi Peach Detox tea last night.  Oh and each morning I had water with Bragg's apple cider vinegar in it.

I had this Sunday night as my pre-cleanse meal. Yummm. Veggies + hummus. I actually had this for dinner on Saturday too, at a restaurant.

this cleanse was pretty inexpensive. I already had oranges, grapefruit and a few things. It was probably around $50 all together.

 Orange
1/2 or whole grapefruit peeled
1/2 lemon peeled
1" piece ginger (optional)
1 orange bell pepper no core
3-4 carrots
2 celery
1 orange peeled

Red
2 golden delicious or gala apples
1/4 carrot
1/2 stick celery
1-2 large handfuls of mixed leafy greens (kale, spinach, dandelion, watercress etc)
2" piece of cucumber
1 broccoli stem (not the whole broccoli, just one stem lol)
1 handful alfalfa sprouts
1/4 beet make sure you wash it very very well
1/4 zucchini/courgette
1/2 lemon peeled
1/4" slice of ginger
serve with ice cubes if you like

Green #1
1/2 medium cucumber
1 pear
1/2" ginger
1 orange peeled
1 cup fresh spinach
1 cup kale or other leafy green
1/2 cup fresh parsley

Green #2
1 green apple
1 lime (or 1/2 large)
1/2 cucumber
3 or so basil leaves
5 or so mint leaves

also made this one day:  spinach, red leaf lettuce, broccoli, mint leaves, blueberries, grapes, pear, cucumber, alfalfa sprouts and basil.

Yellow
2 golden delicious or gala apples
1 carrot
1/2 lemon
1/2 yellow bell pepper no core
1/4 cucumber
1-2 pieces broccoli including stem
1 slice beet (optional)
serve on ice if you like

Purple
2 Granny Smith apples
1.5 cups seedless grapes (red or green)
up to 1/4 head of purple cabbage
1 thin wedge of lemon

My froth came out like an angel one day! haha

 White (optional)
1 cup almonds
3 or so cups filtered water (depends on your taste preference)
follow almond milk directions found in the "5 day juice/nut milk cleanse" document/file

Lost about 4lbs, less than my previous cleanses. I had put on a few pounds this month because I drank a lot more than usual so I'm hoping to keep that off in the long run. Enjoyed my slimmer than usual stomach today at a pool party haha I don't cleanse for weightloss though, it's not a goal of mine. It can work for weightloss if you majorly change your diet after from what it was prior. I do plan on making a point to eat even more clean. I also just ordered Crazy Sexy Diet by Kriss Carr so eventually I plan on doing her 21 day cleanse!  For more info on cleanses I've done just use the search bar! :)
