Sunny Afternoon

I know you can't see what I'm wearing that clearly but I like these pictures. Plus, it's worth noting that it was almost warm enough for shorts over the weekend! Almost. I was a bit cold. Shorts from H&M, blouse and shoes from Target.

I haven't dyed my hair (red) since mid December so it is slowing fading. It definitely takes more than the suggested 5 washes to get rid of it, haha. It's kind of a cool orange-red shade now that I love, minus the roots.

 ps. I have major shoe lust lately! My boot collection grew quite a bit this past year but really, most SoCal weather is not boot appropriate! So I'm working on building up my sunny weather shoe collection.  And yes, I really do have a thing for ankle straps!

Love and Other Things

1. I'm in a Facebook group for military wives and we decided to do a secret Valentine exchange using Elfster. I received these sandals and the necklace, both from Lulus. Love!
2. Enjoyed some (vegan) champagne with my husband. It was kind of hard to find! The Korbel NATURAL one is vegan but the other Korbel ones are not. Neither are Cooks or Barefoot aka cheap champagnes.
3. Indulged in some Starbucks green tea latte/frapp drinks this long weekend (my husband has a 4 day weekend!)
4. Inspired my Valentine's Day DIY projects I saw, I made this for my husband and I. Each page has a different date idea in various categories like restaurants, sight seeing etc. There's also a spot to check it off when we've done it as well as add notes.
5. My new Prabal Gurung for Target shoes arrived and I love them so much!
6. Had good hair days this weekend. Random.
7. Waffle fail! haha Actually these lemon blueberry waffles from 1000 Vegan Recipes were delicious. This one just wanted to stick.
8. Valentine's Day walk with my pup.
9. Shared this recipe with someone looking for a great stir fry recipe. It's from Chloe's Kitchen.

Good as New

I generally have a big pile of clothes to alter, mostly because I keep losing weight. My sewing skills are pretty basic but I'm glad I can at least take in my own clothes to fit.  The best part it, every time I alter a few clothes to fit I feel like they are brand new again! Especially if they were sitting in the alter pile for a while like these shorts were. I think it was last summer that I realized these shorts were way too big to wear anymore. Well, last week I finally got around to altering them. Now I'm in love with them all over again! My youngest sister bought them for me for my birthday, like, two years ago...maybe three? Yeah, I keep clothes for a while. For some reason, moving to Cali made me shorts obsessed. I don't feel bad buying new pairs though because they get worn a ton!
