Outfit: Comfortably Pulled Together

Thought I'd share two outfits today since I don't have a ton of pictures.  Summer is still in full swing here and will be for a while so you can all just shush with your "unofficial Fall" posts, haha.

First look has kind of been my Summer uniform, I feel like. Printed shorts and a basic top. I love that this peplum top really pulls a look together! Even though I'm really just wearing sandals, shorts and a tank here it isn't AS casual as denim shorts and a cotton tee.

Again, another very comfortable look that feels pulled together. That's generally what I aim for. I don't really like to be very dressed up; I'm too practical for that and my lifestyle is very casual. But I'm also not just a "jeans and tshirt" girl.  This is just a maxi and a tshirt but the pop of blue and sheer fabric plus the knotted top all give it more visual interest.

Outfit: Peplum

Finally, a peplum top that is long enough for me! That's thanks to Old Navy's "tall" section online.

Well, that "Winter storm" (y'know, my Southern California standards) passed and the weather is definitely feeling more Spring like. I even unpacked some of my shorts and tank tops!

Floral Peplum

A simple outfit from last week. I'm really into sneakers lately. With the weather slowly warming up, they become my comfortable go to shoe when I have a lot of walking to do, instead of boots. The weather here is surprisingly cold still but it's supposed to hit the 80's this weekend! That'll be nice. I foresee a trip to the beach in my near future.

I accidentally labeled two of my pictures with where the items are from. haha Is Tuesday morning brain a legit excuse?

ps. How cute is this Free People video showing off their February new arrivals? It's like a mini movie. It makes me want to dress in flowy clothes, don a hat, twirl around outside and make out with my husband. Gorgeous couple too. I've been crushing on him since I started watching Girls!

Colour Blocking

Colour blocking is fun with both clothing and makeup. I went with royal blue eyeliner and bright orange lips!

Eyes:
Blinc mascara

Lips:
Milani lipstick in Mandarina

I wore this earlier in the day and then changed into what you sort of see above to go out and watch the Strikeforce fights. That was a fail. We went to a bar we know advertises showing them (it's on Showtime which is an extra $20/month so not everyone has it) and ordered some drinks/food only to be then told they didn't have it. I told them it says otherwise on their website and they comped out drinks so that was nice of them. Then we went to another bar but they wouldn't have them until 10pm despite them being on tv at 7pm. So we just picked up drinks, snacks and went home. My husband talked to our cable provider and we ended up getting Showtime for free for 6 months. heheh In hindsight, I really just wish I'd bought us tickets to go see the fight! I was going to surprise my husband for his birthday but I was too indecisive. Bummer.

Anyway, this top is quite loud. In fact, it's kind of ugly but I like it haha You know how that goes, right? I do love the peplum trend!

(shorts Forever 21, top Target, shoes Charlotte Russe)

I haven't posed a mani in a while so here you go! Base is an old polish, Avon "Strawberry" then I used a spectraflair topcoat and a franken for the dots.
