When in WA

Ah, I love the start of a new year.  It's a breath a fresh air! Yes, a time to make changes. I don't care how cliche it is, I do feel renewed at the start of the year and ready to tackle just about anything. Sure, the feeling may fade some with time but the first step to anything is just to start, right?  This week I have been super on top of cleaning (made a new helpful schedule; link), cooking dinner and packing lunches, working out every day etc.

Here's a look from before we left for our trip. Originally we were supposed to leave this day so this was a travel outfit but it got pushed back.

Here's an outfit I photographed in my inlaw's back yard. Brr. I recommend this rain boots if you want something similar to the Hunter ones without the high price tag. Do wear thick socks to stay warm (and to avoid them rubbing against your ankles). They definitely kept my feet dry!

And a makeup look. A simple eye with a bright lip. The lipstick is Wet n Wild "Purty Permisson" topped with Milani HD Advanced Lip Color "Candy Apple".  I did the same skin routine every day. Physician's Formula Organic Wear Tinted Moisturizer (pretty sure this helped clear up my skin!), POP Beauty UK primer, Milani Mineral compact powder (to reduce any shine), theBalm Bahama Mama bronzer (to contour) and elf Studio Highlighter pen (to highlight).

Birthday Party

I wore this to a friend's house for a (adult) birthday party over the weekend. New blouse from Target (can't find it online but it is in store). It has little animals on it! Giraffes, big cats, rhinos...  cute! I own quite a few sheer blouses at this point but hey, I wear and love them all.  I've been making a point to wear these pants a lot lately as I know it'll be too warm in a few months.

For my makeup I did a dark gold smokey eye with winged eyeliner and a nude lip. I'm wearing Physician's Formula Organic Wear tinted moisturizer with just a bit of Tarte Amazonion Clay Foundation over top. I applied the second on mostly in the center of my face and blended out.  It gives a ton of coverage and applying only a bit keeps it looking more light and natural.

Tinted Moisturizer

This is what I wore today. Yeah, actually today!

Big picture of MAFACE. Obviously I fiddled with this a bit on PicMonkey, let's be honest. My eyeballs are not really this white. haha My favourite lipstick, Wet n Wild "Mauve Outta Here". And yes, I'm in need of a haircut. Hoping to get an appointment for Saturday, nice and last minute.

I didn't "photoshop" the two below.

I've had my eye on this Physician's Formula Organic Wear tinted moisturizer for a while now. I have the Urban Decay one but am not happy with the ingredients list so I'd been wanting a replacement.  Have to say, I'm pretty happy with this one so far! It was under $11 at Target. It smells very...natural. I guess some people might not like that but I like it. It smells kinda herbal. It helps even out my skintone but still looks natural (it's a moisturizer, not a foundation!). With a little powder on top and some concealer, it provides enough coverage for me and still looks natural. It is only SPF 15, containing titanium dioxide. It is 100% free of chemicals, GMOs, parabens and synthetic preservatives. It's 80% organic. Pretty cool, right? I know a lot of products claim to be "natural" and that word alone doesn't mean shit on packaging (seriously) but EWG actually gives it a decent rating and I trust them. I think this is a great product if you have sensitive skin! Like I said, I'm really happy with it so far. My skin feels really great when I wear it and it stayed put through hiking.

Note: I am not wearing Organic Wear in the pictures above.
