Outfit to Recreate

The Inspiration: Fashion Bananas

I love the combination of a longer flowy skirt with a tied grey tee. It's still casual but definitely a step up from jeans and a tee.

Target sandals (the most comfortable sandals!)

I've been in the process of growing my hair out (still am) but I ended up going a bit shorter the other day. Actually, it's shorter than I want on the sides by a fair bit...I don't know why my hairdresser cut it so short! I wanted it similar to how it is in the back. My hair grows quickly though so in a month or so it should be to where I want it (like this).

Blog Change

Hey guys, so I've been doing some thinking about what I really want this blog to be. Obviously I haven't been posting as often and I've lost some of the passion I used to have for it. Still, I've ever had a desire to just delete it and quit blogging all together. I really enjoy having this outlet. It's different than Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram etc

As I've mentioned before, I recently started up my own business called Lifting Lettuce where I offer personal training and soon will be offering health coaching as well. So I've really been putting a lot of time into that along with being a student at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and I eventually decided that I wanted this blog to tie into my work. I don't think it's realistic to think that when I'm really busy with my business that I will have time for this, unless I feel it is related.

I know I've blogged about food and a little bit about fitness here before, so my new idea isn't totally coming from out in left field. Basically, I want this to be more a of a healthy lifestyle blog. I'm definitely still going to post about fashion although it won't just be posts with a bunch of pictures of a single outfit. I'll do more outfit roundups, items I want to buy, featured brands etc  But I will also post about what I've been eating, share recipes, talk about food trends and superfoods as well as share my workouts or videos I like. I even want to incorporate more natural DIY beauty projects and that sort of thing. Eventually, I'll have a website (besides Facebook) for my business and the blog will probably be moved there but for now it is staying put, just with a name change.

I hope that you will decide to stick around. I truly feel that these changes are going to make this blog a more enjoyable site to visit! I'm excited. It may take me some time to fully get into the swing of things but I didn't want to put it off completely.  So, welcome to Health in Style! Because good health is always in style ;)

My review!

Everything all together

I'm loving these Californai Naturel products!! The nourishing creme really is very moisturizing. I don't have dry skin but I love it nonetheless! The cleanser might be a new favourite and I also like the balancing complex. The scents aren't my favourite because of the lavender but they are by no means bad. I am considering buying the cleanser. These products are a bit pricier than what I'd normally spend but it's doable. I like that it's a fairly local product and they focus on making just a few products.

I've applied this to my hair (when dry) a couple times and I love the way it feels and smells. I used something similar by a different brand before and loved that as well. It gives your hair a healthy look and I feel like it helps moisturize it. Probably not something I'd shell out the money for though. I'm sure the sample will last a while!

This was the only full sized product this month. Of all the nail wraps I have tried (at least 5 different brands!) these lasted the best! I am crazy about the print and they were easy to apply. They recommend wearing a base and top coat with these so I did. My only complaint is that they weren't wide enough for my nails! Some fit fine but not all. It's not overly noticeable but probably enough reason for me to not purchase these.

I can't say I've seen results but I'm not finished using it yet.

Review: e.l.f. Haul Part 2

See part 1 of my review here.

Today I'm showing you the eyeshadows I bought!

First up are the smudge pots which are a new AWESOME product. I love these! They are great on their own or layered with other eyeshadows. Some are more pigmented than others. The more pigmented ones also work nicely as a liner. These have very good lasting power. Again, the more pigmented shades stay put the best.. I actually had a tricky time removing the swatches!

Pearls of Wisdom
This one is a bit sheer. It's a shimmery white. It's a really versatile product because it layers so nicely!

 Ocean Bound
A very gorgeous, rich blue shade. It has a bit of sparkle to it but not as much shimmer as some of the other shadoes. As you can see, VERY pigmented!

 Brownie Points
This one is brown with a beautiful gold sheen to it! I wear a lot of browns so I knew this one would get worn a ton.

Gotta Glow
Very pretty shimmery gold.

 Ain't that Sweet?
This one is quite sheer with a shimmer effect. It layers nicely but can be worn on it's own. It's also a nice highlight shade!

All of the smudge pot shades

I'd been wanting this shade for a while now and it did not disappoint! So beautiful. It's teal with gold shimmer/duochrome effect. I've used some cream shadows before so I already knew it was a product I liked.

Loving these shades! I could probably do without yet another shimmery white (I have far too many) but I love the rich emerald shades. I am happy with how pigmented these are. I definitely recommend a good eye primer when you wear them or else they will crease like crazy. I used the elf glitter primer here. They are very sparkly as you can see! But not the kind of sparkly that gets all over everything so that's good. ;)

Review: Petit Vour February 2014

I recently signed up for a 3 month subscription to Petit Vour.  It's $15/month and includes 4-5 products, a mix of sample and full sized. All of the products are vegan!

So here is a review of the February box I received (I know, I meant to post this awhile ago!). I'm very happy with it!

Onto my review!

EVERYDAY MINERALS
First of all, this smells soo good! It also works very nicely. My only complaint is the colour. I don't really do brown shades.  Still, the product itself is really nice.

 OFRA
This is my new favourite blush. I'd never heard of this brand before but I am definitely interested in it now. This colour is so perfect. The blush applies beautifully and lasts well. No complaints!

 EVERYDAY MINERALS
I use this before my foundation (as suggested) and it works very well. It has a nice brightening affect. I only use it under my eyes, not as a spot concealer.  I really like this product and am happy to have a good under eye powder in my arsenal. I often put it over another concealer to help set it.

Sample sizes of gel cleansergel moisturizer and clay mask
Sorry, not the nicest picture! I already went through one of the cleansers. It's my favourite of the bunch. I don't use the gel moisturizer much, not that it's bad it just doesn't seem to do much for my skin. I do like the clay mask as well. I thought about purchasing the cleanser but it is pretty pricey and I'm actually preferring a different brand I tried in March's Petit Vour box!

LINDEN BEAUTY
No picture of the "beauty tea" but I loved it! I put some in a large bowl of hot water, draped a tea towel over my head and let my face soak up the steam. It smells amazing and my skin felt so nice after. Next time I take a bath I plan on sprinkling some of this in as well!
