Outfit: Red, White and Blue

My husband's long weekend started today, hooray! Not that we have any big plans. We're dogsitting this week so I think we'll probably stay at home for the 4th although I wouldn't mind sneaking off to the beach for a bit!

Here's a red, white and blue look I wore today. I like that it's pretty subtle. I'll go all out tomorrow. haha

Outfit: Canada Day

Happy Canada Day!! No matter where in the world I am living, I will always call Canada home. It has my heart!

I only have indoor pictures today because I'm dogsitting and I seriously cannot leave these little dogs alone or they bark like crazy! Perhaps I'll attempt to take pictures outside with them today, we'll see haha

My top is from JC Penney and shorts are Old Navy. Shoes are Shoedazzle.

It's a mad house in here haha

I've been wearing pants a lot this past week but it's supposed to hit 100F soon so I guess that's about to change! Yeesh!

Purchases: April

Oops, went over budget! I haven't bought any skirts in a while so I'm still hoping to find some. I did get some shorts which is good because most of mine from last year no longer fit (thanks weightlifting haha). Of course, I had to get new sandals. hehe I'm a sucker for strappy sandals! Our Summer lasts all the way until October though so they get plenty of wear time.

April Spending:
$135 budget
Twice Topshop shorts $9
Twice Jessica Simpson shorts $3
Wet Seal Mean Girls tops $15 & $5 on sale
Target shoes $18 after coupon
Ross flats $16
Closet linen pants $15
AE bandanas $4 x2
Target tribal print maxi skirt $17
= $214
+ 79 over  (May budget will be $121)

Outfit: White WIne

Here's an outfit I wore to go wine tasting. Yeah, I wore white (totally just typed wine there ha!) to drink wine.  I live on the edge, I tell ya!

Recently picked up this blouse at Target. I love how well it drapes and well, I am a sucker for blouses. I don't know why. It's kind of a weird thing to own a lot of but hey.  The shoes are also from Target and a new favourite! They are very comfortable and I love that they can be dressed up or down. I'm really digging the D'orsay style shoe right now. They are also on sale right now, just saying!

My hair is getting so "long"!  I don't think I ever mentioned it here but I went over the pro job (which was bleached and dyed bright red) with a mix of Manic Panic Pillarbox Red and Wildfire! It has faded a fair bit and it's weird to have dark roots since I hadn't ever previously had my hair bleached but I do love the colour. Infrared still lasts the longest for me though!

Hot Fall

Hey, I finally wore an outfit I felt was worth blogging about! That's about it though. I didn't do my hair or makeup. haha

This outfit is an example, at least in my opinion (like everything on this blog!), of how you can wear Fall appropriate items in 90f weather.  I love lightweight blouses like this because they still keep you pretty cool.  Leather (mine are faux) isn't the most heat friendly material because it'll stick to sweaty skin but it does have more of a Fall feel to it. So just keep that in mind if decide to wear them out with friends and each time you stand up after sitting for a while you basically have to peel them away from your ass and thighs...not that I experienced that or anything.  Ahem.  And of course, ankle boots, my favourite!  Thankfully, ankle boots work well with shorts/skirts/dresses so they are a great early Fall item! I went with black here but brown or tan is also a great option for warmer weather. Finally, the belt. Mustard is definitely a shade that I associate with Fall along with navy, burgundy, dark green etc. Adding in a simple accessory in a cliche Fall shade is a great idea. It could be a scarf, a hat, jewelry etc

No Fall Here

These pictures are totally misleading because while it was cloudy out, it was still a humid 90f. haha I just really wanted to wear my new high rise AE jeggings (which are amazeballs) and this hat which I haven't worn since Winter. The top is also new. I love billowy blouses but it can be tricky to find ones that are flattering. I was on the fence with this one but I think I will hold onto it. It has an adorable little bird print and will work well going into the Fall.  September is the hottest month here so I have to get my "Fall outfit" fix where I can! It's such a tease seeing all of the Fall clothing in stores and in magazines, it's my favourite... ah, who am I kidding, I'm buying it now even if it is still hot out.

I was just trying to pet him but I guess he wanted a back rub haha

Grey Day

First cool day we've had in a while! Overcast and about 70f. It was nice! This was last Friday. I took advantage of the weather and wore long sleeves! I think the weather influenced my choice in wearing mostly grey too. Do you ever find you dress to match the weather?

What is my face doing?! haha
 Target skirt (only $5.98 now!!!)
