Happy St Patrick's Day!

Of course I had to paint my nails green!

I ended up wearing Julep "Leah" with Kleancolor "Holiday Jingle" on the tips along with Julep "Sienna" and Butter London "West End Wonderland"

My friends and I went to Rip Current Brewery in San Marcos, CA for their 1 year anniversary party on Saturday. We had purchased tickets prior to the event which got us 10 tasters and a take home bottle. It was a lot of fun! Breweries are kind of our thing. haha We went out elsewhere later that night and wore a few St Patricks day things to celebrate early.

tempeh tacos from MishMash Gourmet food truck!

Spooky Nails

I realized with only a week and a half until Halloween that I should get some appropriate nail art in!

This first look is a no name/brand orange glitter I bought from Rite Aid last year as part of a Halloween pack. I layered it over China Glaze "Liquid Leather" (vegan).

Next we have NYX "Gilded Glitter" (vegan) over China Glaze "Velvet Bow" (vegan). I love how vampy this shade of red is!

And of course I had to do some fun Halloween designs! The base polish is Julep "Sasha" (vegan). THe black I used is "Liquid Leather" again.

Blue Blue

Ah, love this look! The blue really pops over the nude and both are subtly holographic. The nude is Butter London "All Hail the Queen" (vegan) and the blue is LA Girl 3D Effects "Brilliant Blue" (vegan).

These flakies looked gorgeous over the dark blue, almost like a galaxy. The base is Zoya "Cynthia" and the flakies is Ludurana "Arco-Iris" (not sure if these is vegan or what).

Cherry Dots

Did this simple cherry look the other day and am currently wearing it. The base is Zoya "Purity" (vegan). The red is Zoya "Sooki" (vegan) and the green Bettina "Mojito"

For this look I used Color Club "Revvvolution" (vegan) and topped it with Julie G "Dots n Stripes" (vegan).  Simple but I loved it!

Fan Nail

Mari Moon Hits "Artsy" is still a favourite of mine. Pictures really don't do it justice! The blue/purple shift is the most noticeable but in poorer lighting (like the bottom left pic) you can see the goldish hue as well. Love it.

This is a new look I tried using a makeup fan brush. I was inspired by this tutorial. Loved how it turned out! The colours gave it a sunset type look which was cool. I used a base of Zoya "Arizona" (vegan) and then added NYC "Lexington Yellow" (vegan), Julep "Cameron" (vegan) and Zoya "Shelby" (vegan).

Color Me Monthly

This purple polish is something new. I stumbled across the brand Color Me Monthly which is a subscription service that sends you a bottle of polish each month. It was only $1 so I thought I'd give it a try. Normally it is $7 a month. This shade is called "Summer Tryst" (vegan). It's a very pretty shade and it does have a bit of rose coloured shimmer to it. It is a bit sheer but obviously not overly so or else this nail art wouldn't have worked out.  I used nail striping tape to get this look. It's a bit time consuming cutting the strip and putting them on but overall it's a pretty easy look to do. I recommend putting all of the strips on at once except your thumbs but only paint one finger at a time. Once it's painted pull of those strips right away. If you let it dry, it'll start to pull at the paint and mess up your design.  The base colour here is a franken.

This was a bit tricky to do just because my black polish (Wet n Wild "Black Creme" (vegan)) was giving me problems. It's supposed to look like ribbons. The pink is a favourite of mine, Zoya "Shelby" (vegan). It just screams Barbie to me!

Floral, Stripes, Polka Dots and Bling

I used this Beauty Department tutorial to create this vintage floral look. It was very easy to do! I liked this colour combo because it has a vintage feel to it. The white polish is Julep "Kate" (vegan), red is Zoya "Sooki" (vegan), yellow is Bettina "Birds" (pretty sure Bettina is vegan) and the green is Sinful Colors "Innocent" (parent company is not cruelty free)

I never tire of polka dots and stripes! The base colour is Julep "Simone" (vegan), one of my favourite shades. I used Julie G "Crushed Candy" (vegan) for the nail art.

In person this was SUPER BLINGY haha It was kind of blinding in the sun! You can't tell here though. I'm sure I've blogged this polish before, I've had it for a while, but oh well. It's Fingerpaints "Sand and Stilettos" (vegan)

More Gradient Nails

I never grow tired of gradient manicures- love them! I started with a base of Color Club "Alias" (vegan) which has this gorgeous blue flash to it! It was hard to capture in pictures but it's very noticeable in person, especially in the sun.  Then I used a sponge to add Zoya "Noot" (vegan) to half of te nail. Finally, I added Zoya "Aurora" (vegan) to give it some gorgeous holo sparkle!

This look was inspired by this one. I started with Zoya "Purity" (vegan) as the white base. Then I added some nail striping tape. Finally I used a makeup sponge to dab on Zoya "Maya" (vegan), OPI "Planks a Lot" and Zoya "Zuza" (vegan).  I think it's a pretty cool, unique look!

Mint

Icing "Mint Chocolate Chip" (cruelty free. I'm pretty sure it's vegan but not 100% since I know the magnetic ones aren't). Love this except mint shades always tend to lean more blue than green on me. It really does remind me of mint chocolate chip ice cream though.

Essie "Borrowed and Blue" topped with Julie G "Graffiti" (vegan).  I just don't get tired of this layering look!

Sorry about the awful cuticles!

Party Mani

This is the crazy looking manicure I wore in Vegas. I didn't plan it out, just new I wanted random neon designs over a holographic polish.  It actually wasn't all that sunny in Vegas, just super hot, so the holo didn't make a big appearance. But I love me some neon!  The base polish is Color Club "Worth the Risque" (vegan). The pink is China Glaze "Flip Flop Fantasy" (vegan), yellow is Sinful Colors "Neon Melon" (vegan), black is China Glaze "Liquid Leather" (vegan) and the peach shade is Julep "Teri" (vegan).

For my birthday I wore this. I'm feeling the animal print lately! On my nails anyway. The  base is Zoya "Maya" (vegan) which is a jelly polish. The white is Julep "Kate". Both studs are from Born Pretty Store.
