Outfit: California Love

Sorry about the lack of posts lately guys. My husband comes home soon so it's just been a little crazy busy around here!

I picked up this tank yesterday while hanging out in PB (Pacific Beach, CA) with friends. I've been wanting to get some California tops and couldn't resist this highlighter yellow shade haha I mostly know military wives here so they are from all over the country. Safe to say, I hear a LOT of complaining about California, for whatever reason (mostly. Personally, I like this state and have really enjoyed living here. We'll most likely be leaving next year and while I've always known we'd leave here eventually (it's just not "home", y'know?), I know I will miss it!

Blue Shoes

I started taking yoga classes a few weeks ago and the girl who teaches on Wednesdays is tough! I'm always shaking, sweating and sore the next day. haha I love it though. I'm a total noob but I am glad I finally started going to the classes. It's such a unique workout and I feel so differently doing it than I do during my other exercises. Have you picked up any new hobbies/interests lately?

Yeah that has nothing to do with this outfit.

March Shopping

I decided not to include beauty products here, just clothes, shoes and accessories. I don't buy beauty products too often and it was sometimes hard for me to determine what was a necessity and what wasn't. So the numbers are a bit different!

That said, I over shopped. haha I have a $10 coupon to use at Old Navy this week an a Target order arriving tomorrow but that's it for April. I'm going to challenge myself to "shop my closet". Basically, come up with new outfits from things I already own. I know if I make it a fun challenge I am more likely to stick to it! So I'll be putting some looks together and taking pictures to get inspired. :)

Walking Old Navy Ad

Run, don't walk, to Old Navy and buy this top for only $4.99 on clearance! I only paid like $6 something so I don't feel too robbed after purchasing it last week. haha It is so soft and comfortable!  If they had some black/white or maybe navy/grey combos I'd totally pick up another. I love the length an overall fit.

I feel like I'm starting to see a difference in my body with my clothes on. I've been working hard at the gym! Two areas I'm really trying to improve are my hamstrings and shoulders/back.

It has been a stressful week, continuing into the weekend. But I hope you all have a great weekend/Easter!

Prabal Gurung Blouse

I hadn't yet worn this shirt despite how excited I was to get my paws on it because it's a bit big. I could take it to a tailor but I'm stubborn (and grew up with a mother who is a seamstress!) so I'm waiting until I get the new part of my sewing machine and can do it myself.  Still, I really wanted to wear it an found that it worked tucked in. I just love the crazy print and those mesh cutouts!

Berry & Neon

Oops, I skipped the "one colour for blush/lips/eyes" challenge! I decided to go with berry shades. I wanted something a little edgier that made me think of Fall.  Berry colours are tricky to use on the eyes, I think, because you don't want to look like you just have red eyes! haha I used some brown eyeshadows to soften it a bit.

Face:
Milani Minerals Compact
Milani Baked Blush in Tera Sole
elf Studio Brow Kit
Sheer Cover concealer

Eyes:
elf Essentials Eye Primer
elf palette in Cool
Wet n Wild palette in Petal Pusher
Bare Escentuals Buxom mascara
Madd Style Cosmetics eyeshadow in Young Blood

Lips:
Wet n Wild lipstick in 916D

My go to makeup look lately, when I'm not doing challenges, includes lots of highlighter and a small cat eye using brown liquid liner instead of brown.

The weather is kind of all over the place here lately. It's either 85F out and just super hot or it's overcast with a bit of rain. I think Fall is teasing us. hehe On this particular day it was hot hot hot!

Basic Lasers

Now that's a random title.

Just a simple, basic outfit. The top is a bright coral neon but it's hard to tell here.  These shoes give me clown feet (hello size tens!) but I don't care. I mean, I'm not an awkward 14 year old still wishing she wasn't taller than the boys anymore.

Color Club "Alias" is pretty awesome. It's purple with a flash of violet. Or maybe it's the other way around. haha Uhh...

I used striping tape to create the "laser" nails. I really liked it! I used China Glaze "Liquid Leather" but that wasn't very smart because it has a jelly finish. I have Wet n Wild "Black Creme" for small nail art but I guess I could use another option!

Stamped Gradient

Zoya "Arizona" is another colour from the Beach & Surf collection that I kept going back and forth on. I don't wear orange a lot but this one looked awesome. So when I found it on Copious I used credit to get it for a penny, hehe. I haven't worn it on its own yet but it is definitely a wearable orange. It's an opaque cream but has that squishy jelly finish.  Here I did a gradient with "Arizona" and Julep "Hayden", a great neon peach shade.

Then I stamped. This damn stamp was giving me issues though. No matter what it would not come out crisp. I think the stamp itself wasn't deep enough so the polish sort of rested on top a bit even after you scraped it. I know that only makes sense if you have stamping plates. haha

You can see how neon this really was!
