Outfit: Ombre Chambray

This outfit seems more Spring than Winter appropriate but I sure do love it! I really like brown with chambray and then I think the oxfords tie it all together.

Leopard Flats

So I mentioned recently that I bought these flats from Payless Shoe Source, so I wanted to talk about them a bit. I went on Facebook and asked if anyone had recommendations for really comfortable flats (and I wanted vegan ones for under $60) because I always seem to end up with one that give me blisters! A lot of people said they were in the same boat as me but I did get a few recommendations and one of them was to check out Payless as well as the American Eagle brand. Anyway, I ended up spotting these Dexflex ones at Payless and while I've always avoided the scrunchy flats in past, thinking they were a bit funny looking, I decided to give them a try.  I actually bought both this leopard print as well as the nude ones but I only kept the leopard pair. They fit the same but with the nude, they just looked a bit funny where as with this pattern I can't tell... they just have a "bulge" by my big toe when I'm standing.  These are definitely as comfortable as they claim to be! The elastic on the top bends well and doesn't dig in while the sole features memory foam. They don't dig into my heel/ankle like so many flats do! I'm very happy with them. So give them a try! They're only $19.99 right now.

Oh, also, I used to really hate all animal print. It took along time for me to warm up to even the most classic leopard print but I have to admit, I totally love it now.  I'm still not a fan of other animal prints though!

Good-bye September

• Received a letter from my husband! Upside of deployment. I mean, how often do you get actual letters these days?
• William Wallace hogging the bed.
• Movie and beer night for one! How adorable is John Cusack, really.
• Bought Forrest this stick toy. He loved it... for like 5 seconds. Lame. It said it had real wood in it and would smell like it but it really doesn't. 
• This smells SO good. I warm it in my Scentsy warmer.
• Every evening, now that it is cool enough in the evenings, I put on my sweater cape. It's like wearing a blanket and that makes me happy.
• New flats I bought at Payless Shoe Source. I returned the nude ones because they fit sorta funny but kept (and love) the leopard ones. They are SO comfortable!!
• Still loves to sleep on me every evening while I watch tv.

New Looks

New shoes! New dress! I know you can't see them well here but I'll have  better pictures eventually! I ordered the shoes online from Payless Shoe Source when there was a 40% off coupon. They were already on sale for $15 so I only paid $9 with free shipping to the store!! They are grey slip on oxfords. They are a bit loose. I wear a 9 1/2 but that can be hard to find so I had to get a 10 in these. I will say though that they are very comfortable. I've been wearing them a ton and no blisters! The dress I lucked out with finding at Target, on sale for $10. I had been wanting a cable knit sweater! Victoria's Secret has a really cute one but it's $70! This was the only one I saw but it fits great. You can't see the detail here but it has the pattern just in the front, no where else. It came with this belt but it'll look better with a different one, I think.

Here is a pretty sweet manicure I came up with. I haven't seen this elsewhere. I started with a coat of Julep Vera which is a medium brown. Then I did three coats (really wanted the duochrome to show) of Pixel "Oh Golly Gee". It's a fairly sheer polish but has a great brown/pink duochrome effect! Then I did a coat of LA Colors Color Craze "Sparkling Diamond".  LOVE.  I  had been lusting over the Models Own Pinky Brown polish but this has totally satisfied me. Don't mind the scratches and dents. I did this manicure way too fast and it didn't properly dry so I messed it up some. I still wanted to post the pictures though because like I said, I haven't seen this elsewhere.

Grey on Black

I am so excited for this next month!  My husband graduates from SOI next week then it's Christmas and he goes on leave (vacation) for a couple weeks. New Years Eve will be our 5 year wedding annniversary. We'll be driving up to WA to stay with my inlaws for about a week then driving back here to spend for days with my family while they visit! It'll be like three Christmas'. :) My parents rented a big house for the 7 of us (I have two sisters and one is bringing her boyfriend). We haven't all been together in a few years so I could not be happier.  I think next year is going to be a REALLY great year too.

This is a favourite eyeshadow combination of mine lately. Gold/yellow in the inner corner then a light green in the middle followed by a dark green in the outer corner (V shape).  

Tried curling my new hair and loved it! I'm loving the cut now that I've gotten used to it.

I wore this all day and was going to wear it out to the bars but I accidentally got molasses on it. Yeah, molasses! I bought it to make gingerbread cookies but my husband dropped the bag, breaking it, when taking it out of the car. I guess it got on some other groceries which I then got on me. Oh well, it came out fine. I don't have a picture of the outfit I changed into but I did wear my new boots! We watched the UFC fights at one bar and then met up with some friends at another. It was fun. It had been a while since my husband and I went out at night to a bar!
