Outfit: Pops of Neon

Last Summer I feel like I lived in short dresses and skirts, especially ones like this (I also own it in grey) but this year I've been wearing shorts a lot. This skirt had gone  pretty ignored all year but I pulled it out the other day and fell back in love. May as well rock the short mini's while I'm still...young? I don't know. Something like that!

Outfit: Canada Day

Happy Canada Day!! No matter where in the world I am living, I will always call Canada home. It has my heart!

I only have indoor pictures today because I'm dogsitting and I seriously cannot leave these little dogs alone or they bark like crazy! Perhaps I'll attempt to take pictures outside with them today, we'll see haha

Outfit: Dressing for the Heat

First off, it was super hot this week. Like, 90f hot. Secondly, I swear these shorts fully cover my ass. They look like they don't in some of these pictures but, guys, I SWEAR. o_O

I wore this on Friday and then later changed to meet up with some friends for drinks. I'm so grateful to have such awesome friends here PLUS have my husband home. It's just double the awesomeness. I made some great friends during this deployment plus a close friend of mine who had move away moved back here for a few months. Being a military spouse definitely makes you appreciate your friends when they around... because eventually everyone moves away. I've had to say good-bye to a lot of awesome people over the years.

A Little Bit of This

• Wearing my ShoeDazzle shoes at a Memorial Day BBQ. You all know what memorial day is about right? I watched this video and couldn't believe how many people have no clue! Sadly, that is filmed where I live (and there are TONS of military members here).
• I got a heart rate monitor! I got a great deal using The Clymb website. That was my leg workout last week. And I am seeing a difference in my abs this week!
• Really enjoyed my purple hair. Yeah, enjoyed. It has faded a ton already!
• Snuggled with my kitty. He is a total lap cat.
• Posted this on Instagram to show people that eating doesn't necessarily make you bloated. 

New Ride

I wore this on Wednesday for a long day of new car shopping! I really liked the Mazda CX-5 but it was a bit out of our price range. Plus my husband wasn't a fan of the way it looks. So we ended up with a 2014 Jeep Patriot!  My husband fell in love with it and while I do wish it had better mpg (it has a normal amount for a small SUV but the CX-5 has REALLY good mpg) I do really like it! We've never had a big vehicle so it's pretty awesome to have so much room.  Now there is room for not just our pup but also future babies!

I tried these boyfriend jeans on at Target on quite a few occasions before deciding to buy them. I wasn't sure if I wanted to wait and get some distressed ones or not. I mean I could just DIY but I think I'm liking them as they are! And yes, I wore these shoes again! haha I was in them, walking around, from 10am until 8pm and they stayed comfortable the entire time.

I asked my husband to snap a few outfit pictures and well, let's just say that none (besides the one of me in front of the Mini) were useable. hahah Eyes closed, awkward hand etc I swear one day we will get the knack of it! But for now, it's selfies all the way.

Anyway, this was our last full day with the Mini rental. We bought a new vehicle yesterday! Woo!

Happy Moments

1.  My poor kitty was pretty freaked out that there was another animal in the house. Look how big his tail is fluffed up!!
2. Today's workout. I just started the Muffin Topless Summer Challenge! I'm pretty excited.
3. New polishes from Rite Aid. I don't buy polish that often anymore so it felt like such a treat!
4. Soy green tea frapp from Starbucks. Husband got the same thing but latte. Our favourites.
5. Enjoying some homemade unsweetened tea. When the weather is hot, I love to keep a big batch of cold tea in the fridge!
6. I walked a friend/neighbour's dog and had him in our apartment for a bit. Here is trying to play with my grumpy dog haha
7. Our car rental for the week! We should be buying a new car this week but had to have something in the mean time. It's such a fun car! My husband wants to buy one now but it's just too small!
8. Enjoying the sun on our porch. I'm reading Room and love it!
9. Been curling my hair with my new Baby Bliss 1/2" travel size flat iron. It's perfect for creating texture/small curls and waves.
10. Farmer's Market purchases on Saturday. Husband was in hummus heaven so we got a huge thing of chipotle and a huge thing of avocado cilantro! Also, organic strawberries (maybe the best I've ever had), pita (free with the hummus), basil and (not pictured) eggs for my husband.
11. Meal prep today! Details on Friday.
12. I'm a ShoeDazzle convert! My new shoes are so awesome and SO comfortable. They will be on the blog tomorrow! And I love that they threw in this free gift!
